Membership in the ACF gives you a voice in decisions affecting the chess community in Alaska and nationally. Any member in good standing receives 1 vote during the election of the Board of Directors. Any member aged 18+ can run for election to be the Board of Directors. Annual individual membership fees are waived for our Board of Directors!
Membership in the ACF gives you a chance to represent the ACF and Alaska as a State Delegate at the US Chess Annual Delegates Meeting.
We host several rated and unrated tournaments throughout the State. Membership dues help to keep admission fees low for all players and allow the ACF to provide boards and clocks for our players to use.
We maintain a website and social media presence to communicate easily to and amongst members. In addition, we provide a tournament clearinghouse to assist our affiliates and organizers across the state in advertising their events and tournaments.
When you support ACF by buying a membership or playing in one of our events, you are supporting chess across the State.
As the ACF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, donations above the cost of regular membership are fully tax deductible.
